Meet the Pan(t)hers

The Pink Pan(t)hers - from l to r Ande Evans, Will Ford, Tony 'Pink' Riches & Lucja 'Mrs Motivator' Leonard

Lucja Leonard - General Manager

and instigator of this crazy idea!  As a Dutch come Aussie, come British person I am surprisingly competitive!  So love a good challenge, you will often finding me running half marathons or full ones for fun and signing up for any challenge going that will test my endurance and capabilities, so when the cycle challenge came up (partly my brain child) I thought this would be a perfect challenge for me as it is not just me that has to finish, but I am responsible for making sure my team are ready, trained and also finish the challenge.  Look out for me in my fluro pink tabard, cajoling the team along the Shropshire cycle routes in preparation for our big day!

Tony Riches - Sales Manager
I have been encouraged to get fit!! My “big boss” suggested a bike ride. I thought “Yeah” that’s easy and should be FUN!

Huh! Little did I know what was round the corner – a ride from Telford to Cardiff via Birmingham.

Anywho’s training has begun and comfort cycle shorts have been purchased.  Just starting to raise money for Hope House Hospice so please dig deep into those pockets – every little helps.
Give me a wave when you see a bloke with a pink “hi viz” jacket cycling around town trying to get a little bit fitter.

Ande Evans - Housekeeping

I work in the housekeeping team at the hotel and have always enjoyed cycling.  When I heard about this challenge I was keen to get involved to prove to myself that I can do it.  140 miles is a long way and it will be a great achievement to have completed the challenge.  I cycle to work each day but that is nothing compared to the challenge ahead!

Will Ford - Conference & Banqueting
I’ve worked in the hotel for over four years.  I am undertaking the cycle ride because I have done things for charity in the past but not for a while.  In 1998 & 1999 I did 2 sponsored runs when I was liven in Guernsey and in 2004 I organised and performed in a charity ‘Stars in their Eyes’ in Benidorm.  I haven’t done much since and am really excited to be a member of this challenge team..  I always sponsor other people and I give to charity regularly; it's the amazing work of these charities that has inspired me the most.
